Sunday drive in mountains near Bacolod

Bus over load--I would be afraid to ride these buses because most of the drivers do not use the gears to slow them down, only the brakes which get very hot.  Shortly after we arrived we saw the remains of a bus that lost its brakes on a hill like this and it was horrible.  16 of the passengers died.

Rice terrarces on the steep mountain slopes

Ninfu, Mary, Larry, Madeleine, Sister Gale, Brother Gale, their daughter-in-law

The Lion overlooks a rest spot built by the local Lions Club; Mary thought her grandchildren who love the Narnia stories would enjoy this.

More rice terraces waiting to be planted

Carabao wallowing in the water by the rice terraces

The long and short of it--a 24 year old dwarf we met in a village near the top of the mountain
