Two of the nights we stayed in the Sugar Land Hotel in Bacolod proms were held. The first night was the Junior/Senior Prom, the second night was a college mascarade ball. Most of the girls came in their gorgeous, probably rented, formal gowns by themselves but were escorted in by young men who came back several times to accompany the young women through the doorway into the ballroom.
It must be prom season in the Philippines; when we stayed at the Bethel Guest House in Dumagete there were proms held at the hotel. The girls were delighted that we took their pictures.
The dresses in Dumagete were not quite as elegant as the ones in Bacolod. But the girls were equally excited to be dressed in their beautiful gowns.
The backs of the dresses were beautiful also, maybe quite bare, but these girls don't have the blessings of being instructed in modesty.
