Cebu to Dumagete During our Temple Break
We met Nelie Bagaan and James Hewko at a travel agency in Bacolod and invited them to visit us in Cebu. We were delighted but very surprised when they came. James was very interested in the Church and made the comment that he couldn't understand how there were prophets in ancient times but that there weren't today! We discovered that Nelie was a member but hadn't been to Church for a long time. Larry arranged for the missionaries to visit her and give the discussions again to help her come back to Church. After they came to our apartment for lunch, we were sad that we hadn't thought to take their picture, but it wasn't just coincidence that Larry ran into them a few hours later at the huge mall--and that he had his camera with him!
After a three and a half hour bus ride to the southern tip of Cebu, we boarded a "fast craft" boat that took us to Sibulon on Negros Oriental where the Wolfs met us. The boat ride was 30 minutes long
The Wolfs took us to a charming native Filipino restaurant right on the ocean where we enjoyed Filipino food and a delicious carrot-orange shake. The light drizzle in this picture turned into a real downpour.
