Chocolate Hills

Chocolate Hills, Bohol

There are 214 steps or this incline trail to take you to the top of one of the Chocolate Hills where you can see many more of them. There are over 1700 hills in a 50 square kilometer area. As you can see we took the incline trail which provided a nice view of the farms below. Notice the rice field and some of the beautiful flowers which were all along the trail.

No one knows how these moguls were formed, but they have been in existence for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years.

Chocolate Hills are one of the wonders of the Philippines.

These hills get the name "Chocolate Hills" because in the heat of the late summer the vegetation turns brown making them look like heaps of chocolate.

Farming is very productive around the base of the hills.
