The Filipino buffet served on the Loboc River cruise featured pork barbeque, chicken adobe, all kinds of fish and seafood dishes, Filipino vegetables and fresh fruits--and of course, rice! Our group is in the background with Sister Ganir's back to us, then Jorgensens, our tour guide, Malou Igang standing behind Elder Ganir and Mary at the end of the table.
The boat stopped at a dock on the river where we were entertained by darling children, teenagers and talented adults singing and dancing to Filipino folk music.
The tinikling is a Filipino folk dance performed by hitting bamboo poles together on the ground with the dancers gracefully maneuvering in between the poles.
The lush, tropical foliage along the banks of the serene, green Loboc River added to the relaxing enjoyment of our river cruise.
The boat's photographer took our picture but we did not buy it, having already had one of our friends take the above picture. All the others bought their "professional" pictures. Because we did not buy ours, a container was brought to our table so we would contribute to the musicians who had serenaded us almost the entire time. We were happy to tip them, but were amused that we were the only ones who were approached for a contribution...
