| For those of us who love Christmas, the Philippines is the place to be. The ward we attended on Sunday sang Christmas hymns in Sunday School, Relief Society and Sacrament meetings, the stores have Christmas decorations up and for sale and have carols and Christmas songs playing. (It does seem a little strange to hear "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" being sung with palm trees waving in the background!). My neighbor, Sister Asher showed me the Christmas stockings she bought to hang. But to top it all off, yesterday workers started building a nativity stall in front of the temple, and today they have added the large white figures of a donkey, Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus in the manger! Larry thinks it is all premature. We were told that the people here start celebrating Christmas when the months ending in "ber" start...and they are! Merry Christmas, everyone...forget about Halloween and Thanksgiving...... Love You! Mary/ Mom and Grandma |
