The Ganirs went with us to visit the Old Prison which is now a museum. It was run by the Spanish, the Americans, the Japanese and the Filipinos until 2004

Interesting plant life at the Prison Museum.

Daddy and I went with the other missionaries to the "Maya Restaurant" for family home evening. Daddy did not like the hot Mexican food, but everyone else raved about it. The waiters kept bringing dish after dish for us to eat. The atmosphere was very classy.
The Filipinos are really big on uniforms for everything. These beautiful girls are cashiers in the Metro Department Store. Their hair is all done in the same style with buns and black bows. They look like China dolls with perfect makeup. The cashiers all wear these light green sheaths; the supervisors wear a different uniform. All office people wear uniforms unique to their company.

I am fascinated by the way the Filipinos use pins to create amazing "clothes" with draped fabric in the cloth department. They change these every week.

More high fashion draped material "dresses"!

Daddy fell in in love with these children in one of our tour groups. They are the Filipino neices and nephews of the American Filipinos who returned for the temple dedication. Another sister is in Natalie's ward in Oklahoma.

The three American Filipino sisters who returned for the temple dedication. The one is purple is the sister of Natalie's ward member.

Elder and Sister Mike and Vonnie Asher who came with us as temple missionaries. WE are all such good friends.

Daddy preparing to give the introduction to the temple video. Notice the way the material is pinned so attractively under the TV. The Filipinos want to make everything lovely--even to the point of covering a plain old TV cart!
