This is where Gina has to come to get water. She has to hike up a very steep hill for about 400 yards and then carry a full bucket back to the house. It costs her about 3 cents a bucket which is always more than they can afford.

House and yard which are about as big as our dining room. This was a real improvement over their home when they were squatters in the city.

Gina, Pablo and their four precious children with Mary and me

After hiking up a steep hill for about 1/4 mile in the rain on a very slick trail Gina came to direct us to their home.
The 4 children were standing in the doorway to greet us. Mary had a difficult time steping over the slat door to get into the house and even a harder time getting out.

Gina, Pablo and their family in their one room home that he built on a mountain lot that the Pecks helped them get for 5000 pisos(100 dollars) which does not give ownership but only allows them to stay until the real owner makes them move.
